SUPER SUDS SOAP
In the first year of the pandemic when everyone was doing a lot of hand washing, I decided to start making soap as holiday gifts for my friends and family. I was inspired by Seymour Chwast and Phyllis Flood's 1980s self promo project for Pushpin Studios - Pushpinoff Products.
Every year since, for about a week in December my kitchen becomes a soap mill. My studio-mates (my kids) and I brainstorm the year's scents and names, and I get to work on the package design. The first year, I packaged the soaps in wrappers that I designed and printed off at home on my laser printer. In subsequent years, I've used metal tins and stickers printed though Die Cut Stickers here in Seattle.
